After watching the offense struggle Saturday, Glennon wondered about the possibility of another change. Whether coincidence or irony, the offense came to life while Glennon loosened his arm. Beamer said he had no idea Glennon threw those 20 practice passes. Taylor started making plays, the offensive line opened running lanes and the Hokies methodically worked their way downfield. Glennon would not be needed.

“Maybe I should not warm up next time,” Glennon joked.

I’m sure he is unhappy, this being his senior year and all.  However, the best thing for the team now is for Taylor to get 100% of the snaps.

Just one week after announcing the fifth-year senior Sean Glennon would be the full-time starting quarterback and sophomore Tyrod Taylor would redshirt the season, Hokie head coach Frank Beamer announced at his weekly press conference that Taylor would in fact be on the field for Virginia Tech’s next game.

Virginia Tech’s money folks could make large coin if they hold a raffle. Winner gets to stand on the sideline at Lane Stadium and actually tear off the symbolic redshirt from quarterback Tyrod Taylor and take his headset as he runs onto the field.

The Hokies need something. Or to be more precise, they certainly needed something Saturday.
