Virginia Tech’s search for a playmaker at receiver has Frank Beamer looking at one of his stars on defense.

Senior Victor “Macho” Harris has been seeing some practice time with the receivers this summer. According to The Roanoke Times, Harris runs with the offense one practice period per day.

Harris was All-ACC at cornerback last season, and he’s also Tech’s primary kick returner.

Just because Virginia Tech’s coaches haven’t talked lately about Victor “Macho” Harris at receiver, don’t assume it was simply a spring experiment that has been abandoned in preseason camp.

Harris, the Hokies’ star cornerback who spent half of spring practice helping a receiving corps depleted by four graduates, said Saturday that he plans to play both ways this fall.

“It looks like it’s going to be legit,” Harris said. “I’m practicing it now.”
