Virginia Tech kicker Keys has paid his dues – roanoke.com

Dustin Keys, despite not getting a scholarship, will finally get his chance to kick for Virginia Tech.

BLACKSBURG — Dustin Keys’ dream is scribbled on an old church offering card, taped to the computer where he’ll write graduate school papers this fall.

Seven years ago, while the preacher delivered his sermon, Keys drew a football and “VT” logo on one side of the offering card. On the back he wrote “MY GOAL.”
