Discounted Smart Way passes to be offered
Virginia Tech’s Transportation and Campus Services to offer discounted Smart Way passes to faculty, staff and students.
Virginia Tech’s Transportation and Campus Services (formerly the Office of Transportation) is working in collaboration with Valley Metro to provide Virginia Tech faculty, staff and students discounted monthly Smart Way bus passes. Valley Metro is the transit company that provides the Smart Way bus service between the Roanoke and New River Valleys.
Passes will go on sale Tuesday, July 15, for the August monthly pass.
Transportation and Campus Services will be subsidizing the monthly passes 25% bringing the cost of the $100 monthly pass to $75.
The passes will be available in the Parking Services offices at 455 Tech Center Drive and in the Student Services building. You must present your Hokie Passport at the time of purchase and only one pass can be purchased per month per person. Cash or checks are accepted for pass purchase. Credit cards and debit cards will not be accepted.
On the 15th of each month the next month’s passes will become available (i.e. on July 15 you can purchase an August pass; on August
15 you can purchase a September pass, etc.).
